Position Overview
KEY Environmental, Inc. is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer with 3+ years of experience in groundwater treatment and remediation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, operating, and optimizing groundwater treatment systems and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and field implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Design, evaluate, and optimize groundwater treatment systems (e.g., pump-and-treat, air stripping, GAC, chemical oxidation, biological treatment).
Develop and direct groundwater treatment testing, including bench scale and pilot scale studies.
Prepare technical reports, work plans, and regulatory submissions.
Oversee system installation, startup, and operation & maintenance (O&M).
Provide QA/QC oversight for work completed by contractors and technical staff.
Coordinate with subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies.
Support cost estimating, proposal development, and client communications.
Work Environment
Flexible, hybrid office schedule with occasional field work.
Field activities may include outdoor work in variable weather conditions and industrial environments.
Periodic travel to client sites, including occasional overnight stays.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in groundwater treatment and remediation.
Understanding of groundwater flow, contaminant transport, and treatment technologies.
Experience with environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, state programs).
Strong data analysis and technical writing skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Experience with treatment system design software or geochemical modeling tools (e.g., PhreeqC, isotherm calculations, Shiny-GAC, IEX, PAC)
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Experience with emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS) is a plus.
