Senior Project Manager - Civil and Geotechnical Engineering

Job Description:

KEY Environmental Inc. is an established and innovative environmental consulting firm specializing in the investigation, remediation, and redevelopment of environmentally-challenged properties across the U.S. We have an immediate opportunity for a hybrid. full-time, ambitious, Senior Project Manager in our Pittsburgh, PA office. Responsibilities:

  • Manage civil and geotechnical engineering-related projects, including investigation, engineering analysis and design, permitting, and construction phases, as appropriate;

  • Front-line interface with clients as well as Local, State, and Federal agencies;

  • Provide technical assistance and strategic direction for remediation projects under CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory programs, and closures of facilities containing coal combustion residuals;

  • Preparation of technical proposals for additional work on existing projects as well as new project opportunities;

  • Mentoring of junior and mid-level engineers;

  • Work with senior company management on the project team development strategy;

  • Support of our business development professionals in preparation of sales brochures and qualification statements, and participation in technical sales presentations;

  • Participation in a limited number of regional/national conferences, and the support of our business development professionals; and,

  • Contribution to our collective team atmosphere.


Assigned projects may include:

  • Remediation under CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory programs;

  • Closure of facilities containing coal combustion residuals;

  • Brownfield sites;

  • Shale gas recovery and processing facilities;

  • State Voluntary Action sites; and,

  • Industrial and commercial site development.

Requirements:

The ideal candidates will have an M.S. in engineering and at least 15 years of work experience in the civil and geotechnical engineering fields, with a focus on the design, permitting, and construction of environmental remedies.

  • Minimum B.S. degree in engineering (civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering) with 15 or more years of engineering and project management experience;

  • Professional Engineer licensure in one or more states and the willingness to obtain additional licensure;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and (perhaps most importantly) teamwork spirit with co-workers and clients;

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;

  • OSHA 40-hour training preferred, and;

  • Valid driver’s license.
